Pioneer’s November 1996 catalog covering their first DVD player lineup. The flagship PIONEER DVL-9 at ¥133,000 is claimed by Pioneer as the world’s first full-compatible DVD and LaserDisc player - one box that handles DVD, all LD formats, and CD. Alongside it: the PIONEER DV-7 at ¥88,000 with Wide Range DAC and the compact PIONEER DV-F21 at ¥68,000 in a new media size body. Two DVD karaoke units, DVK-1000 and DV-K800, get their own spread. The back cover lays out Pioneer’s recommended Advanced Home Theater system: DVL-9 paired with the VSX-09 AV amplifier at ¥219,000 and S-ST01 satellites.
