A 16-page stapled booklet with a clever two-headed layout: one end opens “for Formal Mind” with the C series, the other “for Casual Mind” with the E series, the spec table sits in the middle, and actress Kazue Ito appears on both covers in two different styling looks matched to the two lines - a formal one for the C series and a casual one for the E series. The formal C series is the C-90, C-70A, C-50 and C-30 packages built on the PMA-25/PMA-22 amplifiers, with the TU-25 quartz tuner, the DR-25 (Dolby C) and DR-22 decks, the DP-5/DP-3 linear-tracking turntables and the alpha-boron SC-C5s/SC-C3s speakers. The casual E series runs on computerized deck receivers: the E-2 with an 18-track program and the E-8 with the DR-8 dual deck for random auto-editing of up to 15 tracks. The spec page carries the full table, the CONCEPT options (APS/ARC/ASS stands, DM microphones, AH headphones), the DENON DX cassettes and a teaser for the DCD-2000 CD player under the headline “the quality of the 21st century”.
