DENON DCD-1650GL October 1991

A brochure about a single CD player, the DENON DCD-1650GL at ¥99,000 before tax, on an A3 sheet folded in half. It is a “Special Limited Edition” (特別限定仕様) in a grace gold finish with side wood cheeks and a matching gold RC-240 remote, a separate limited dress for the DCD-1650 class player. Inside is DENON’s signature digital path: a 20-bit Λ S.L.C (スーパー・リニア・コンバーター, Super Linear Converter) on 4 DACs, with a DENON-selected AD1862N-Z version used for the DAC chip, plus 16fs oversampling (one output of the Λ processor delayed by half an 8fs cycle and summed at the output). On the claimed high-end side: a balanced XLR output that used to be fitted only on the senior DCD-3500RG, a double chassis with heavy sintered-alloy insulators, an oversized transformer and the D.P.C. (Digital Pitch Commander) function. The back cover is blue with the line “PRO SPEC. PURE & WARM”.
