The cover is a close-up of the gold front panel with a huge VOLUME knob, BALANCED INPUT and INPUT SELECTOR keys (PHONO/TUNER/CD/AUX/TAPE), and three headline phrases beneath the unit: UHC Single Push-Pull Circuit, Single-body Sand-cast Chassis with Radiator, New Inverted Σ Balance Circuit. The second spread repeats the αSensitive language - black background, a moon over a desert canyon with arch-like windows in the rock (Utah, unmistakably), a vertical line “創世紀が聴こえてくる” (“you can hear the dawn of an era”), and the αSensitive logo with the same small red 愛 used on the CD flagship. Inside, the circuit story: UHC Single Push-Pull output stage on the large-current UHC-MOS elements, MOS-FET single push-pull, OTL without an output transformer, and the new inverted Σ balance circuit (shown with a block diagram of inverting and non-inverting amplifiers). The chassis is a single-body sand-cast frame with two massive heatsinks structurally integrated on either side, plus a sand-cast weight base on the bottom - the same philosophy as the DCD-αS1. Connectivity is generous: BALANCED XLR, PHONO with auto MM/MC switching, CD, TUNER, two AUX, two TAPE loops with REC OUT, two SPEAKER pairs, plus PRE OUT / POWER IN for bi-amping or for use as a standalone pre/power. The numbers: 50 + 50 W into 8 Ω (doubling to 100 + 100 W into 4 Ω), THD 0.007% at the main stage, 0.002% at the pre stage, SNR 108 dB on LINE / 91 dB on PHONO MM, output impedance below 0.1 Ω, weight 25.5 kg, price ¥400,000 before tax. Paired with the DCD-αS1 at ¥500k it added up to a clean ¥900,000 stack before tax - exactly the system αSensitive was conceived for: “a flagship built with passion by DENON’s sound engineers” for those “who love music with all their heart”.
