PIONEER Amplifiers & Tuners March 1988 - cover

Pioneer amplifiers and tuners catalog for March 1988, under the Pure Pioneer Components banner. The EX series flagship is the PIONEER A-90D at 220,000 yen - Pioneer’s first integrated amplifier with a built-in DAC: an optical input takes signal directly from DAT, CD, or a digital tuner, and an optical delay correction circuit handles the timing offset. Direct Construction and anti-resonance chassis are part of the same engineering package. Down the lineup: A-717, A-616, and A-505 (the latter with 100W+100W, aimed at digital sources). Tuners are the F-717 with the ARTS system (0.8dBf sensitivity, 0.02% distortion) and F-505 with CCTS computer-controlled tuning. AV duties go to the VSA-700 with built-in Dolby Surround. The back cover covers accessories: EX series headphones, Pure series optical cables, and the VS-100 video selector at 29,800 yen.
