A saddle-stitched A4 booklet, 10 pages - SANYO’s general catalog covering boomboxes, combo boomboxes, portables, a mini system and home karaoke. The main story is TV stereo tuner built into the U4 series (音声多重放送 broadcast was just rolling out in Japan then), dual-cassette flagship MR-WU4MKIII at ¥46,800 and the compact U4L starting at ¥29,800. The ff series adds combo boomboxes - ff1, ff2 and the ff8 with a built-in turntable, ¥37,000-¥49,000 - then JJ portable players with auto-reverse, mini system DC-W07MKII at ¥125,000, and PAT home karaoke closes it out.
This is the earliest catalog in the Museum where the cover model is actually credited by name - GINA NANA (ジーナ・ナナ). She appeared on at least four SANYO catalogs across 1984-85 (see the other SANYO catalogs), but no one has been able to identify her since: no real name, no biography, nothing in open sources after forty years. If you have any leads - drop us a line and we’ll update.
- テレコダブル - Telecorder Double - dual cassette mechanism with high-speed dubbing
- オートリバース - Auto Reverse - in U4 MK III boomboxes and JJ portable players
- Amorton - Amorton - amorphous solar cells in MR-AM11-B radio
