SANYO Transistor Radio 1960 - cover

SANYO’s 1960 catalog covering transistor radios and early Hi-Fi systems. The flagship lineup is the STG-series floor-standing stereo consoles - STG-300, STG-400, STG-500 - combining a turntable with multi-way speakers; the catalog describes them as an “invitation to the 21st century of sound.” Portable receivers are built around 7-transistor and 8-transistor superheterodynes: pocket-sized 6C-022 and 8C-025 in nylon cases, dual-band 7S-P4/P5/P6 with shortwave reception. A dedicated spread covers home transistor models 7S-07 and 6S-08, which SANYO explicitly calls “home radio without a cord.” The reel-to-reel recorder S-21MR at ¥36,000 closes the catalog as the most expensive item in the lineup.
