Double-sided A4 flyer for the SA-100, the tube/MOSFET hybrid power amplifier that Counterpoint shipped into Japan through distributor NOAH in June 1990 for ¥400,000. Counterpoint was a California hi-end company started by engineer Michael Elliott, active from 1978 to 1998 and specialising in exactly this type of hybrid topology: tubes in the input stages for “soul”, solid-state devices in the output for muscle. The face of the flyer shows the silver chassis with finned heatsinks and the line Handcrafted in California; the back gives a top-down view of the inside - toroidal transformer in the centre, two banks of output MOS-FETs on the sides - plus the full spec sheet: 100W BTL into 4 ohm, four 6DJ8/ECC88 tubes up front, output stage running without global feedback, copper-plated steel chassis, milled aluminium front panel 10mm thick.
- ハイブリッド管球/MOS-FET 回路 - hybrid topology with 6DJ8/ECC88 tubes in the input and driver stages and MOS-FETs in the output stage
- ノーフィードバック出力段 - output stage with no global negative feedback loop
- 銅メッキスチール・シャーシ - copper-plated steel chassis - low resistance and magnetic neutrality
- 10mm厚アルミ削り出しフロントパネル - front panel milled out of a 10mm thick aluminium billet
